Two Ghana Premier League giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak were both at the receiving end on Matchday 22 of the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League action.
The Champions Kotoko were maneuvered by Tarkwa based Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Sunday. Medeama struck the Reds with 2 unanswered goals in their own backyard.
Jonathan Sowah scored the opening goal in the 15th minute when he smartly bundled in Joshua Agyemang’s pass.
The second goal arrived in the 78th minute through a spot kick converted by Vincent Atinga.
The win takes Medeama SC to the 4th spot with 37 points – three points behind leaders Aduana FC while Asante Kotoko drops to the 7th spot with 34 points but with one game in hand.
Hearts were annihilated 3-0 at the CAM Park at Aiyinase thanks to goals from Emmanuel Boakye Owusu in the 17th minute, an own goal from Hearts of Oak defender Konadu Yiadom in the 32nd minute then a Richard Berko third goal in the 87th minute.
