As part of its partnership with the government, the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has announced that it will purchase dialysis machines for some public hospitals in order to assist with renal treatment.

Dr. Aboagye DaCosta, the authority’s chief executive officer, said the NHIA would do its part to guarantee that everyone has access to basic healthcare.

Starting on Monday, June 3, the NHIA started offering kidney patients receiving dialysis at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital its support program.

Journalists were informed by Dr. Aboagye DaCosta that the government has a well-defined strategy to continue the support program that is meant to assist renal patients throughout the nation.

”The government do have a clear sustainability plan which will be unveiled and as I have it even includes seeing how we can support some facilities with dialysis machines, and how we can move on to the other forms.

“It is a comprehensive one so this will even serve as a learning for us in improving what we are going to put in place as a government”.
