The Gold Industry Group Board of Directors have announced the appointment of Gold Fields’ Vice President of Legal and Compliance Kelly Carter as Chair for a second term and welcomed Saturn Metals Managing Director Ian Bamborough as Vice Chair in his first year as a Director.
According to Gold Industry Group Chair, Kelly Carter was thrilled to continue to lead the Gold Industry Group into its 7th year and was delighted to work alongside Mr Bamborough to further grow the Group’s community reach and impact.
“I am delighted to continue to work with the newly elected Board of Directors in leading the Gold Industry Group, and to build on the achievements of the last year.
“The composition of the board is testament to our increased focus on broadening representation, which is also demonstrated by the expansive national reach of our programs,” said Ms Carter.
Gold Industry Group Vice Chair Ian Bambrough expressed his delight to be nominated and looked forward to supporting the continued expansion of the Group and its valued community initiatives.
“It is a pleasure to be able to support the Gold Industry Group’s important role in championing and connecting Australians to our gold industry.
“I look forward to working with the Chair, my fellow Directors, the management and staff, and most importantly our stakeholders and community,” said Mr Bamborough.
The appointments follow five new Directors joining the leadership team at the Group’s Annual General Meeting, including St Barbara Head of People, Culture and Corporate Affairs Justine Fisher, Northern Star Resources Group Manager Government Relations and Social Performance Guy Singleton, Gold Road Resources Chief Financial Offer John Mullumby and Perth Mint Manager Business Development and Industry Research Cameron Alexander, resulting in the Board maintaining its existing equal gender split.
The Group celebrated two years of its National Gold Education Program this term inspiring tens of thousands of students in more than 1200 schools nation-wide and announced the extension of its landmark partnership with West Coast Fever, Netball WA and Shooting Stars last month.
