The number of deaths resulting from the new coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) is on the increase around the world, with Italy, China, Iran and Spain the hardest hit countries.
By midday Friday, total deaths around the world stood at 10,254, having started the day with 10,048 according to figures by worldometers.info, a site that is actively collating and updating Covid-19 cases globally.
Ghana and Togo on Friday reported dramatic new confirmed cases, five and eight respectively, raising anxiety among nationals. Nigeria, which first reported a confirmed case in the sub-region, had not reported any new case.
Ghana’s Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu has hinted the country expects to report more confirmed cases.
Italy, with the world’s largest deaths, stood at 3,405, followed by China at 3,248.
