Give half of your bonuses to charity – Nana Aba Anamoah to Black Stars

Editor for GHOne Television, Nana Aba Anamoah has suggested to players of Ghana’s senior soccer team, the Black Stars, to give out half of their bonuses to charity as a form of apology to Ghanaians over their abysmal performance in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

Speaking on Accra-based Joy FM on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, she said the performance the team exhibited at the ongoing AFCON was disappointing, hence the need for the players to apologise to Ghanaians.

Nana Aba’s comment follows the team’s exit from the tournament after they (the Black Stars) were beaten by the Tunisians in a penalty shootout on Monday, July 8 at the Ismailia Stadium.

The match between Tunisia and Ghana ended in a draw. However, Tunisia beat Ghana 5-4 on penalties.

Nana Aba added that she could not stop herself from crying because Ghana lost the game.

According to her, many Ghanaians would forgive the players if they donated part of their bonuses to support charity works in the country.
