Ghana maintained 52nd position on the latest FIFA world rankings released by football’s global governing body on Thursday.

There were significant changes based on the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.

The four times AFCON Champions who enjoyed convincing results over Zimbabwe home and away also retained seventh place in Africa.

The Black Stars of Ghana kept their hunt for the final qualification round of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup alive after beating the Warriors of Zimbabwe back-to-back.

Ghana now have to win all two matches remaining to book a ticket through to final qualification round, away to Ethiopia and at home to South Africa.

Senegal – who have already qualified for the play-off round of the World Cup – top the African continent with 1564 points, ahead of Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles – who dropped one point – and are now 27th globally and second in Africa after accruing 1525 points.

Overall, Belgium remain top despite losing the Uefa Nations League title to France. Among the top five, only Les Bleus and Italy have improved their positions.

The next Fifa Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 25 November 2021.
