Christ Embassy

The Ghana Police Service, in a statement, said they are investigating alleged gathering by the Christ Embassy Church at Trade Fair Centre on Friday, April 30th 2021 in flagrant disregard of Covid-19 safety protocols putting the entire Nation at high risk of spreading Covid-19.

Trending photos and videos from the night showed people worshipping without face masks and the seating arrangement in total disregard of the state-directed social distancing protocols.

According to the Police statement, the organizers did not give them any notice to “oversee an event of this magnitude”.

“The Police did not provide security for the said event. In fact, the organizers did not give notice of the event to any Police Officer or Station. The event, advertised as a Church Service which ordinarily did not require notice under the Public Order Act, was organized at the blind side of the Police.”

The Police have subsequently locked up the Fantasy Dome where the event was held.
