The Black Stars recorded a slim 1-0 victory over Caribbean side Nicaragua in an international friendly on Tuesday at the Estadio Francisco Artés Carrasco in Lorca – Spain.

Sporting CP youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku’s powerful curled shot from inside the box sealed the victory for the Black Stars in their second Pre-World Cup friendly.

The 18-years-old who made his 13th appearance for the Black Stars scored the only goal of the match in the 35th minute of the encounter.

The Senior National team were coming from a 3-0 defeat in their game against Brazil last Friday.

Coach Otto Addo’s lads will play European side Switzerland next in another preparatory game on November 17, seven days before their opening game at the World Cup against Portugal.

The Black Stars are paired in Group H with Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
