Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Bernhard Lippert has bemoaned what he says is the lack of competent goal scorers in the national U-17 team.
This was after Black Starlets were eliminated from the WAFU Zone B Cup.
The Black Starlets lost 3-1 in their second group game to Cote D’Ivoire to exit the competition, having already drawn 1-1 with Nigeria in the opening game of the 3-team group.
”I’m not happy with the U17 performance; we have goal scoring problems. We don’t have this kind of strikers who are real strikers but in all the referee decided this match today. Sorry to say this.
“You saw in the second half also that we had a real problem scoring goals; we don’t have the kind of strikers who are real strikers.”
The Starlets miss out the CAF U17 tournament for second time after failing to qualify for the 2019 edition.
