GFA serves Kotoko’s Emmanuel Gyamfi one match ban for misconduct

The GFA Disciplinary Committee has handed a game ban to Asante Kotoko’s deputy skipper, Emmanuel Gyamfi for misconduct in the game against Inter Allies.

Gyamfi was found guilty of stamping player number 45 of Inter Allies (Andy Okpe) in an off-ball situation around the 65th minute of the game, an action which in the opinion on the association is improper and likely to bring the game into disrepute.

The incident happened at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu on Match day 29.

The speedster was subsequently charged for misconduct and pleaded guilty to the offense.

According to a statement from the GFA, Gyamfi’s one match ban is in accordance with Article 12(b) of the GFA Disciplinary Code.

A fine of GHc1,000 has been  imposed on him in accordance with Article 6.1(c) of the GFA Disciplinary Code. He has been cautioned that ”any future misconduct shall receive a more severe punishment” the statement added.

The 24 year old will thus miss the matchday 33 game against Bechem United on Sunday 11 July 2021 at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
