The GFA Appeals Committee has imposed a permanent ban on the match venue of Ghana Division One League side, Wamanafo Might Royals by applying Article 37.1(d) of the GFA Division One League Regulations.
Irate fans of Mighty Royals mercilessly beat up Referee Niatire Suntuo Aziz and his assistants Suleman Mohammed, Yakubu Abdul Rahman as well as the fourth referee Hasim Yakubu after their game with Bofoakwa ended 0-0 a the Wamanafo Community Park some couple of weeks ago.
A temporary ban was then placed on the venue, and the club charged on six counts of misconduct by the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee.
They were found guilty on all six charges and handed the home ban, plus the Gh¢ 20,000 fine, Gh¢ 2000 of which will be used to pay for the medical bills of the referees who were assaulted.
According to the GFA, this decision was taken following the Division One League Club’s application for an appeal of the Disciplinary Committee’s decision in their misconduct case.
