Inter Allies have been demoted to the Division Two League after being found Guilty of Match Manipulation in their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League Matchday 34 game against Ashantigold at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
The decision was announced on Monday by the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee.
The brouhaha follows a match fixing allegations in which Inter Allies defender Hashmin Musah confessed to scoring two intentional own goals in the Matchday 34 of the Ghana Premier League encounter.
Musah is reported to have said that he netted the own goals on purpose to alter a results planned with a betting syndicate.
Inter Allies were beaten 7-0 in the match, with Musah coming off the bench to net twice past his own keeper in the final 12 minutes.
Consequently Ashanti Gold, released a statement stressing that they had no involvement in the alleged match-fixing scandal.
Officials of Inter Allies also denied any wrongdoing.
The GFA after the conclusion of investigation announced that Inter Allies have been charged on two counts.
Players and Officials of Inter Allies FC also were charged for breaching Article 34(5)(a) of the GFA Premier League Regulations.
Inter Allies are to pay a fine of GHS 100, 000 in accordance with the GFA’s Disciplinary Code.
