The Ghana Football Association has named Chris Hughton as the new head coach of the Black Stars.
The GFA confirmed the news of the 64-year-old Irish-Ghanaian tactician following extensive deliberations between the two parties.
The former Nottingham Forest and Brightton and Hove Albion coach, who was the Technical Advisor to the team replaces Otto Addo, whose short-term contract expired in December after leading Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Assistant coaches George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani maintained their respective roles.
However, details of Hughton’s contract were not disclosed.
The Gaffer’s immediate task is to build a formidable squad in Ghana’s next assignment – upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double header against Angola on March 20 and March 28.
