Mrs. Gertrude Quashigah, the School Feed Program’s National Coordinator, has died.

She reportedly passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at aged 63.

Her late husband, Major Courage E. K. Quashigah (Rtd) was a former minister in the Kufuor administration.

Mrs. Gertrude Quashigah, the CEO of Ambar Quality Foods Limited, was born on February 1, 1960, in Dzelukope, Keta, in the Volta Region. She was not only well-known in the hospitality industry but also made a major impact on the food sector in Ghana.

The Ghana School Feeding Program achieved significant progress in guaranteeing that children nationwide had access to wholesome meals under the direction of Mrs. Quashigah. In May 2021, Gertrude Quashigah lost her job as the Ghana School Feeding Program’s national coordinator.

She was ordered to turn over any official records or property under her control to the Chief Director of the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection at that time, according to a letter from the ministry.

Her departure was announced without explanation in the May 18, 2021 letter. However, President Nana Akufo-Addo overturned the decision subsequently.
