Independent MP for Fomena constituency Andrews Asiamah Amoakoa has formally indicated his intent to do business with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) caucus in the 8th Parliament.
In a one-page letter sighted by cedidollar.com; the newly elected Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament said:
“For the avoidance of doubt, I do hereby affirm that I shall cooperate and collaborate with the NPP caucus in the Eighth Parliament.”
“For the avoidance of doubt, I do hereby affirm that I shall cooperate and collaborate with the NPP Caucus in the Eighth Parliament,” he added.
His request to the Speaker raises the NPP’s numbers in the house to 138 giving them the majority in Parliament.
This means, the NPP is most likely to form the Majority in Parliament pending the results of the series of court actions both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party have initiated against winners of the just ended 2020 parliamentary polls.
