Giorgio de Arrascaeta netted a brace for Uruguay after Luiz Suarez’s heroics.
Suarez was in tears after the final whistle, following what may have been his last international.
South Korea, meanwhile sealed a dramatic 2-1 win over group winners Portugal to book a knockout phase.
The Asian Side and Uruguay both ended with a zero goal difference but Korea has total of four goals in their three games, with the South American team scoring two which came against the Black Stars.
