Ghana’s Black Maidens secured a deserved spot in the qualifying race for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, India 2022 on Sunday after a 4:0 aggregate win over Senegal in Accra.
The Female U-17 side consolidated their first leg triumph with a 3-0 trouncing of Senegal thanks to second half strikes from Gerogina Ayisha Aoyem, Princess Owusu and Abdulai Karina at the Accra Sports Stadium.
After a drab first half, Aoyem broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half before Owusu doubled the lead in the 58th minute and Karima’s 73rd minute strike ended the Senegalese’s qualification journey.
By virtue of their impressive 4-0 win on aggregate Ghana are through to the third round, where they will face off with fellow West Africans Guinea, who eliminated Liberia in a convincing 9-3 win on aggregate.
