In the most recent FIFA rankings, Black Stars have jumped four spots, from 68th to 64th.
Even so, they are still ranked 12th in Africa. After ending their seven-game losing run earlier in June, the Black Stars have risen in the standings for the first time in a long time.
Their incredible comeback victory over Mali on June 6 in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers marked the start of their return. Ghana won 2-1, thanks to goals from Jordan Ayew and Ernest Nuamah in the second half.
The four-time African champions then prevailed against the Central African Republic (CAR) in an exciting 4-3 match, maintaining their remarkable streak. Ghana finished equal top of Group I in the qualifications after this tense match, significantly enhancing their FIFA Rankings.
Argentina continues to lead the world standings, closely followed by France and Belgium.
As they strive for more success in the approaching qualifiers and contests, the Black Stars’ recent performances have rejuvenated the team and given them hope and confidence.
The team will shortly start getting ready for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers before making changes to the remaining 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the next game.
