The preliminary CAF Award 2023 nominees for the women’s categories have been revealed.

The nominees were chosen by a distinguished panel consisting of CAF Technical Experts, Legends, and a few representatives from the media. The panel considered the nominees’ achievements across all categories between December 2022 and November 2023.

Evelyn Badu, the star of Ghana’s Black Queens, will compete for the coveted Player of the Year award, with Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala won for a record-tying fifth time at the most recent Awards Gala in July 2022 in Rabat, Morocco.

In the 2023 WAFCON and Olympic qualifiers in Paris, 2024, Badu has netted nine goals for the Queens.

In the 2022 CAF awards, the former Hasaacas Ladies star received the Young Player of the Year and Inter Club Player of the Year—Women’s Category awards.

On December 11, 2023, in Marrakech, Morocco, the finest players in African football will grace the Awards Gala.

The winners of the current CAF Women’s Champions League Cote d’Ivoire 2023 are all eligible to compete for the title of Club of the Year.

Comfort Yeboah and Tracy Twum, two Ampem Darkoa Ladies, will compete against eight other players for the Interclub Player of the Year (Women) Award.

Mary Amponsah, a teammate, and Comfort Yeboah once again received nominations for the Young Player of the Year (not more than 21 years) category.

The club’s manager, Nana Joe Adarkwa, of Techiman, was a nominee for Coach of the Year (Women).
