Although Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, an independent candidate, has emerged as a strong contender, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) remains confident that it will win the upcoming by-election in the Ejisu Constituency.
To increase support for the upcoming election, NPP members are actively participating in campaign activities throughout the constituency.
The national and regional executives of the party have stepped up their efforts within the constituency and are optimistic about keeping the parliamentary seat in Ejisu.
In an interview with Citi News, NPP National Organizer Henry Nana Boakye reaffirmed the party’s unwavering confidence, saying, “Clearly, Ejisu is NPP and NPP is Ejisu. We do not see that any independent candidate can win the Ejisu Constituency.”
“We are strategically positioned the party to win this hands down, and we have a vibrant and energetic lawyer,” he said.
The party went on to say that Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, the former MP of Ejisu who is contesting as an independent, has made very little progress toward the constituency’s development.
The party’s anticipated victory is unaffected by the independent candidate, according to Nana Boakye.
“The facts are there; under President Kufuor, he was appointed at the Ministry of Highways as a director. Under Nana Akufo-Addo he was appointed as a deputy minister of roads…NPP gave him the opportunity to be an MP for 12 good years.”
