On Monday, President Nana Akufo Addo instructed the Bank of Ghana (BoG) to disregard remarks he describes as mischievous and misguided, with the intention of detracting from the institution’s primary mission.
With the support of the Bank of Ghana, he clarified, the economy of Ghana is progressively improving.
Numerous individuals have criticized the Central Bank, primarily the Minority in Parliament, claiming that Governor Dr. Ernest Addison and his appointees are to blame for the nation’s economic woes and calling for his resignation.
Nonetheless, Nana Akufo-Addo stated that the Bank should stay focused while speaking on Monday at the 2023 Bank of Ghana End of Year Cocktail in Accra.
“Within its remit of independence and role in having to formulate and implement policies that will help usher in likeable transformation in our nation that we will all desire.”
“And in so doing the bank should ignore the mischief and misguided elements and maintain its focus as it has been doing for the execution of its core mandate,” he stated.
