The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has cautioned residents within the metropolis to adhere to all Covid-19 safety protocols as a matter of urgency.
According to a communique released Monday, July 19, the metropolis has seen an upsurge of coronavirus cases.
It added that the new Delta variant was detected “soon after the Christmas Festivities in December, 2020”.
“The upsurge of the new cases in the Metropolis have been mainly attributed to the general disregard for the Covid-19 safety protocols, funerals, parties, and other social gatherings,” the statement highlighted.
