Black Princesses skipper Evelyn Badu has picked up an unfortunate ankle injury ahead of Ghana’s opening match with the USA in the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup.
The Avaldnes midfielder sustained an ankle injury in the team’s training in Costa Rica ahead of the Group D opener against USA today, Thursday at the Estadio Alejandro Morera.
According to a statement from the GFA, Badu is currently in POP awaiting scan results to confirm the extent of injury to the ankle.
The GFA added that ” the medical team and management are providing the captain with all the required support at this moment to get her back on her feat”.
The Black Princesses will open their Group D campaign against the United States of America on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the Estadio Alejandro Morera at 17:00 GMT.
