In the aftermath of Ghana’s scrappy win over the Palancas Negras (Black Antelopes) of Angola on Thursday Coach Chris Hughton addressed the media in a post match reaction where he reflected on the encounter.
Coach Hughton felt his side lacked the firepower to trouble Angola.
“We’ve had 11 chances so that’s the first positive. If you were telling me that we played 96 minutes and we only had two or three chances then that’s worrying but the fact that we have had chances you always know…come the next game or next game after, you’re going to put some of the chances away,” the Gaffer said.
“The only thing we learned is that we need to be a little more clinical when we have the opportunities.”
The Black Stars left it late to beat Angola 1-0 on Matchday three of the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Baba Yara Sports thanks to an Antione Semenyo goal.
The win takes the Black Stars to 7 points – after three matches.
They will will travel to Luanda for the reverse fixture on Monday, March 27, 2023.
