Newly appointed Black Stars Head coach Chris Hughton has announced a Twenty-five man squad for Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola.

Two Belgium based players in the persons of Majeed Ashimeru and Joseph Painstil made a return to the squad following their recent exploits in the Belgian Pro League.

The former Newcastle Boss also made a call-up to Joseph Wollacott who missed out in last year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar due to injury.

Patrick Kpozo, Edmund Addo of Spartak Subotica and Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer have been included in the squad.

Meanwhile, no locally based player made the squad ahead of the tie. Goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim who was part of Ghana’s team in Qatar last year surprisingly missed out.

The Senior National team will host Palancras Negras at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Thursday, March 23 before travelling to Luanda on March 27, 2023 for the reverse fixture.

The Black Stars are joint top of the Group E table with 4 points after two games.
