The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce (GNCCI) on Tuesday launched the 2021 Chamber CEO Business Forum.

The event slated for June 23, is expected to address the need to re-assess strategies critical to charting the path towards building business value, resilience, and sustainability.

The one day event, organized by the GNCCI, Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG), and Multimedia Group Limited, is targeted at Ghana Club 100 companies, leaders of business associations and members of the GNCCI and will focus on digitization

Mr Clement Osei-Amoako, President of GNCCI, told journalists in Accra that due to the recent disruptions in opportunities by COVID-19, a return to “business as usual” cannot thrive in this new normal.

He stressed the need for businesses to re-engineer their approach along the axis of people-planet-profit.

Mr Osei-Amoako said digitization was dominant in the business world and it was necessary for businesses to digitize their business strategies and take advantage of the market.

“Digitization of business strategies is very vital in our current business world and it is important we take advantage of the markets by digitizing our business strategies, others are progressing in their businesses so we do not have to be left out,” he said.

The forum would provide a high–level platform for CEO’s, entrepreneurs, Industry Experts and Policy Makers to deliberate on topical issues, make policy recommendations to the sustainable growth and development of business in Ghana and explore new business partnerships.

It will also help to identify gaps in governmental policies on businesses and channel grievances raised to government for subsequent stakeholder engagement and advocacy which identifies policy gaps that needs amendment by government.

Mr Osei-Amoako said the first session of the forum would focus on impacts of regulatory policies and business competitiveness, ensuring business resilience and risk management to increase sustainability and value, developing effective market strategies and maximizing operational efficiency and business agility.

The second session of the forum would also focus on reimagining future capabilities and capital allocation, digitization of business operations, designing end-to-end supply chain systems, financial innovation and business growth.

The President of the Chamber encouraged participants of the forum to be involved in areas of collaboration for value-adding projects and partnerships.

Mr Mark Badu-Aboagye, Chief Executive Officer, GNCCI, said the forum would engage 200 businesses from all sectors of the Ghanaian economy to provide holistic approaches on the mitigation of business risk to maximize profit.

This year’s forum will be held on the theme, “Redefining Business Success: The Path for Business Value, Resilience and Sustainability.”
