Kumasi Asante Kotoko say they will use all legitimate means to ensure the right thing is done concerning the club’s players’ COVID-19 results drama in Sudan which resulted in their CAF Champions League last round second leg qualifier against Al Hilal getting called off.

Hours before the fixture in Sudan, Kotoko received positive COVID-19 tests for seven players and four officials, while the results of another player remained outstanding.

With a 22-man squad, Kotoko were ultimately unable to submit the minimum 15 players required for a CAF Champions League game, having been left with just 14 players, eventually leading to the game being called off, pending a CAF decision.

The Porcupine Warriors released a statement that detailed and highlighted timeline of proceedings in Sudan while claiming the COVID-19 results were tempered with by the Al Hilal officials.

The release signed by the Acting Communications Director of the club, David Obeng Darko, said Kotoko had filed an official complaint through the Ghana Football Association to the Confederation of African Football to contest the “anomalies” in the COVID-19 results.
