At the Laurent Pokou stadium in San Pedro on Thursday night, the Ampem Darkoa Ladies of Ghana lost 3-0 due to superior skill from AS Mande in Group B.
A hattrick saw AS Mande take the lead in Group B, showcasing Oumou Kone’s talent.
After their initial game against the Huracanes of Equatorial Guinea ended in a tie on Monday, AS Mande was desperate for a victory. They dominated the Ghanaians from beginning to end, playing like well-oiled machines.
Kone, who posed a threat to the Huracanes defense the entire game, opened the scoring in the 40th minute to give her team a reassuring lead before halftime.
Returning after her break, the striker continued from where he left off by being a nuisance in the danger zone.
The pressure paid off with Kone scoring from a corner in the 71st minute and again off a beautiful play in the 72nd to secure a convincing Malian victory.
After AS Far in second place and AS Mande at the top of the group, Ampem Darkoa is currently ranked third in Group B.
Huracanes and the Techiman-based Club will square off in a decisive match on Sunday for a place in the knockout round.
