The Confederation of African Football has cautioned Hearts of Oak over the poor state of the Accra Stadium pitch in their Champions league game against CI Kamsar in September.

The Rainbow club defeated CI Kamsar of Guinea 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium to progress to the next phase of the CAF Champions League.

The Phobians have been warned ahead of their next qualifier against Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca later this month.

If Hearts fail to fix the pitch to the required standards, they could be forced to play the match at their second choice venue, the Cape Coast Stadium.

The CAF warning comes in the wake of a decision by Ghana’s Club Licensing Committee to reject Hearts’ request to use the Accra Sports Stadium as their home ground for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.

It follows several complaints about the unimpressive playing surface.

If the concerns on the pitch are addressed, the GPL Champions will welcome Moroccan side, Wydad in Accra on October 15, before travelling to Casablanca days later for the second leg.
