Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC defeated Horoya FC 3-1 in the first leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.

The Mauves and Yellow boosted their chances of reaching the money zone thanks to goals from Kofi Asmah, Nana Kofi Babil and Nurudeen Abdulai. However, the Guineans struck a consolation goal in the 89th minute.
