Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, has declared that the next elections in December have to center around ideas and policies.

He exhorted Ghanaians to base their decisions primarily on the policies, concepts, and solutions put forth by the contenders.

Speaking to the nation at the State House in Accra on the eve of Eid-Ul-Adha, the Vice President emphasized the significance of unity and policy-driven discourse in the electoral process.

“We are one people, we are one nation, and we should let this election be about the policies, ideas, and solutions that the respective candidates have for the country, and that is what we should be focusing on.”

According to Dr. Bawumia, Ghana is the most peaceful country in West Africa and is ranked highly for tranquility across the continent. He also mentioned Ghana’s reputation as a beacon of peace.

“Ghana is a blessed country. We are the most peaceful country in West Africa and probably about the fifth or so most peaceful country in Africa,” he said.
