Dreams FC is on the verge of reaching the semifinals of the CAF Confederation Cup, and wonder kid Abdul Aziz Issah has been the talk of the town during this season’s incredible run.
The competition has seen the 18-year-old score four goals and dish out two assists. His head coach, Abdul-Karim Zito, has been so impressed with his play that he has gone so far as to draw comparisons between him and the great Abedi Ayew Pele.
Zito claims that his rising star performs at a higher level than the legendary Abedi Ayew did.
“Abedi Pele was brought to Aburi at the age of 17. At the age of 18, Abedi did not play like Aziz at this level.”
Additionally, Zito urged the Black Stars’ handlers to give Issah a call-up promotion.
“If I were in the Black Stars, I would call him. It’s long overdue,” he told Accra based Onua Sports.
At the age of 18, Abedi Ayew had already made 46 appearances and scored 21 goals for Real Tamale United.
Additionally, he was a member of Ghana’s 1982 AFCON winning team—the last time the Black Stars took home the championship.
Aziz Issah, Dreams FC’s attacking midfielder, has so far this season in all competitions scored 11 goals and provided 4 assists.
He also competed for Ghana in the 1982 African Cup of Nations, which marked the Black Stars’ final championship.
