The Akufo Addo led NPP administration has been sharply criticised by the NDC caucus for its alleged neglect and marginalization of the Ashanti region in terms of development during a news conference on Monday.
For what they see as a purposeful lack of focus and funding on the development of the region, the party primarily blames President Nana Akufo-Addo.
In contrast to other regions that are experiencing a steady upsurge in infrastructure developments, the Ashanti region is deliberately being denied developmental projects by the Akufo Addo-led administration, according to Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Region Secretary of the NDC.
Citing their displeasure with the apparent negligence, Amoakohene urged the electorate to think about unseating the NPP in the next 2024 census.
“We believe that the Ashanti region has been sidelined, so far as development is concerned. And it’s even reflected in his appointments, ministers, Chief Executives and others.
“We believe that this current NPP set-up has nothing to offer the Ashanti region,” the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC stated.
