After his team defeated Huracanes FC 3-1 on Sunday night to go to the semi-final of the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League, Nana Joe Adarkwa, the coach of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, is in high spirits.
The Ghanaians defeated Huracanes 3-1 on Sunday night in the final group B encounter at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo, securing a historic semi-final position in the CAF Women’s Champions League, Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
After the game, the coach expressed his belief that his girls’ futures are endless because they had accomplished their first objective—securing a spot in the semifinals.
“We achieved our first goal, which was to be in the semi-finals. Whatever happens, we will finish the competition with our heads held high. We are aware that the team we are going to meet is a strong team but, we will work hard to win the game.” the gaffer (Nana Joe Adarkwa) told CAF.
The Ghanaians lead Group B with a higher goal differential than the reigning winners AS Far, who also advanced on the final day of the competition in San Pedro. This not only gets the Techiman-based Club into the semi-finals.
Due to their outstanding performance, Ampem Darkoa will play Sporting Casablanca on Wednesday night in the semi-finals.
