Alfred Duncan

After four years of service with Fiorentina, Alfred Duncan’s bid goodbye to the Italian Club.

Due to his contract expiring this week, the 31-year-old Ghanaian midfielder will be free to sign during the next summer transfer window.

Duncan leaves Fiorentina with 304 appearances in Serie A, the most of any Ghanaian international player. Since his August 2022 arrival, he has been a reliable member of the team’s midfield lineup.

Duncan and Fiorentina have mutually decided to split after his contract expires. In order to go on to the next stage of his career, the midfielder is currently focused on finding a new team.

Duncan made 126 appearances in a variety of competitions when he was a member of Fiorentina, contributing significantly to the team’s victories and scoring six goals.

With two goals and five assists in 41 games during the just finished season, he was a key player in Fiorentina’s run to the UEFA Europa Conference League finals, where they were barely defeated by Olympiacos.

Throughout his long career in Italy, Duncan has represented Inter Milan’s junior squad as well as Livorno, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, and Cagliari. His versatility and midfield expertise have gained him recognition in the Italian football community.

Since making his debut for the Black Stars in November 2012, Duncan has earned ten caps for Ghana while playing for the Black Stars.
