The Multimedia Group in keeping with its tradition of calling the election has projected incumbent president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the potential winner of the 2020 elections.
With 258 results collated so far the head of the political desk of Multimedia Evans Mensah together with his deputy Wiston Amoah announced Nana Akufo-Addo had taken a commanding lead with a total of 6,245,280 votes representing 51.32%. His closest contender, Ex-President John Mahama follows with a total of 5,753,514 representing 47.32%
With results of 17 constituencies remaining the team announced that given an average voter turnout of 79%, and the commanding presence by the two major contenders, a little over 1 million votes are at stake for either of the two candidates to cross the 50+1 votes to be declared president.
Out of the one million votes the NPP’s candidate Nana Akufo-Addo needs just a little over 300,000 to cross the 50%+1 votes to be declared winner.
However, it will take close to 800,000 votes for the NDC candidate John Mahama to cross the 50%+1 votes and be declared winner of the 2020 elections.
On the account of the results collated so far, the Multimedia Group projects President Nana Akufo-Addo is likely to cross the 50%+1.
