At the invitation of Emmanuel Macron, the President of the Republic of France, and Rt. Hon. Chris Hipkins, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, President Nana Akufo-Addo, left Ghana to attend the 5th Christchurch Call Leaders’ Summit, which is set to take place in Paris, France, on Friday, November 10, 2023.

While in France, Akufo-Addo will also take part in the Sixth Edition of the Paris Peace Forum, which is set to take place on November 10 and 11, 2023, at the invitation of Mr. Angel Gurria, the President of the Paris Peace Forum.

Along with him were representatives from the Foreign Ministry and the Presidency, as well as Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

On Sunday, November 12, 2023, the President will return to Ghana. In his absence, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia would assume the role of President Akufo-Addo in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution.
