Black Stars interim Coach Otto Addo has expressed his satisfaction with his sides win over Madagascar on Wednesday night.

Ghana got their 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign off to a good start following a 3-0 victory over Madagascar in Cape Coast on Wednesday night.

Goals from AS Roma prodigy Felix Afena-Gyan, Kudus and Substitute Osman Bukari helped the Senior National team to a convincing victory in the Group E of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

Ghana could have won the game by a wider margin especially in the first half of the game as the players were wasteful despite creating a number of chances in the opening 45 minutes.

Addo in a post-game reaction praised the Madagascar goalkeeper Razakirina who produced series of outstanding saves to keep the scores barren in the first half.

“Good goalkeeper, I didn’t count the number of shots on goal but he had some good saves. We created chances so I’m happy”

“But this is football, not all shots will go in. In all, I was satisfied, even though it was 0-0, [in the first half] there was not much I could say. They just had to keep playing that way” Addo said.

By virtue of the win, the Black Stars go top of Group E with a better goal difference, followed by Angola who defeated Central Africa Republic 2-1 in the group’s other game earlier in the day.

Ghana will travel to play the Central African Republic in four days time while Madagascar host Angola in the group’s other game.
