At long last, the dice has been cast as the senior national team, the Black faces AFCON record holders Egypt in Group B in a repeat of the 2010 final which the Pharaohs won. Cape Verde and Mozambique complete the group in the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, Cote d’Ivoire 2023 as the Official Draw was conducted on Thursday.

The Black Stars will be making their 10th consecutive AFCON qualification.

Four times AFCON winners, Ghana were handed a favourable group with Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique representing a smoother path to the knock-out phase.

Didier Drogba, Mikel Obi, Sadio Mane and Achraf Hakimi were present to grace the occasion on Thursday, night.

The competition starts from 13th January to 11th February 2024 in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
