Black stars winger, Kamaldeen Sulemana has expressed his displeasure following the Black stars’ early exit in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2021).

According to the Rennes youngster, the Black stars team performance was ‘beyond embarrassing’.

Ghana were dumped out of the 2021 AFCON Competition in the group stage following a defeat to Comoros in the third and final day of Group C.

The four-time Afcon champions earned only a point from their three group stage games, finishing bottom of Group C.

The Blacks stars’ first round exit was the worst ever AFCON performance by the Black Stars.

In Kamaldeen’s Instagram post, he apologized for the Black stars abysmal showing at the AFCON:

“My first dance at Afcon started on the wrong foot with performances as a team beyond embarrassing but very grateful for my debut in this prestigious tournament,” he said in a social media statement.

“A very tough experience with so many learning curves. Things didn’t go as planned and we have ourselves to blame as a team.

Sincere apologies. No excuse or apology is enough for Ghana deserves better. Giving up is never an option, we will be back and I mean we will back!

“Thank you for the unrivalled support & kind messages” He wrote.

Ghana will be back in action in March when they West African rival, Nigeria for a spot in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Black stars would be aiming to appease their fans by earning a fourth World Cup appearance after a disappointing elimination from the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.

The Senior National team will host the first leg between March 24-29, 2022 while the Teslim Balogun Stadium will stage the second leg in the same month.
