Abdul Fatawu Issahaku joins Dreams FC on a season loan deal

Ghana Premier League side, Dreams FC has announced the capture of youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, on a season long loan.

The 17-years-old winger, joins the Still Believe club from Division One side Steadfast FC ahead of the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League season.

The Dawu based club, released a statement after signing the AFCON U-20 best player.

“Dreams Football Club has secured the signature of young football sensation, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku on a year-long deal.

“The former best African youth footballer shot to the limelight after taking the African youth tournament in Mauritania by storm in 2020 and winning with the Black Satellites.

“Fatawu a product of Steadfast FC in the Division one league has eyes for goals with his surging runs and exceptional expertise with set pieces will be expected to provide more options in the midfield of the Believers.

“The senior national team starter will join the team in the preseason as they continue to fine-tune for the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League Season which commences on the weekend of 28th October 2021” the statement said.

Issahaku represented Ghana and served as captain of the national under-17 team in 2020, playing during the 2021 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The following year, due to his impressive form, he was promoted into the under-20 squad, despite being much younger than most part of his teammates. He was later selected to take part in the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
Subsequently, he was also adjudged as the Best Player of the African U20 Tournament.

In September 2021, Fatawu made his debut for the Black Stars in a 3–1 victory over Zimbabwe in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
