On matchday 30 of the Ghana Premier League on Saturday, Berekum Chelsea defeated Asante Kotoko 2-1 thanks to a stunning injury-time goal from Mezack Afriyie.

Five minutes into injury time, the forward, who was lurking at the far post, latched on with a header to send the home crowd into frenzy.

After just 15 minutes, Asante Kotoko’s striker Steven Desse Mukwala gave them the lead. Stephen Amankona, who now leads the league in goals scored with 13, equalized the score in the 41st minute with a penalty kick.

In an incredible fashion, Mezack Afriyie turned heads with a winner in injury time, ensuring that Berekum Chelsea got back to winning ways.

Coach Samuel Boadu is extremely relieved, as his team’s most recent matchup at Golden City Park ended in a 3-0 loss to Hearts of Oak at home.

Berekum With 44 points, Chelsea has now surged to fourth place in the league standings, while Kotoko is now in 11th place with 40 points.
