The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has made it clear that, should he be elected president, he will not tolerate LGBTQ activities in the nation, no matter the possible consequences.
According to him, such actions are against national values and cannot be approved.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized that neither the Quran nor the Bible, nor the people of Ghana, endorse these kinds of actions.
The Vice President declared, “On this matter of LGBTQ, I want to say again without any equivocation that we will not allow it in Ghana,” during a meeting with the clergy on Thursday in Tamale. That will not be permitted. No is what our people say, our Bible says, and our Quran says. Thus, no. That’s the response.
“No man will be marrying a man, no woman will be marrying a woman. It is not our value. And I will stand firm no matter the consequences.
“We will stand firm on that matter no matter the consequences. We will safeguard our country and we will safeguard our people.”
