Black Queens

On July 13, Tokyo, Japan’s Nadeshiko and Ghana’s Black Queens will play a high-profile international women’s friendly match at Kanazawa Go Go Curry Stadium.

In the last qualifying round, the Black Queens defeated Namibia to earn a spot in the 2024 Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

In addition to staying in shape for the tournament, the team will use this high-profile match to allow head coach Nora Häuptle the luxury of adding new players to the squad.

The Japanese team will use the match to improve their readiness for their Olympic participation in Paris.

Japan is currently ranked seventh (7) in the world, while the Black Queens of Ghana are ranked fourth on the African continent and sixty-four (64) in the world.

After missing out on a Paris ticket, Ghana’s Black Queens, who are currently ranked fourth in Africa and sixty-fourth (64) in the world, are keen to take advantage of any chance to improve their performance.
