The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has officially appointed Joseph Abuabu Dadzie as its new CEO.
Mr. Dadzie succeeds Mr. Opoku-Ahweeneh Danquah, whose tenure concluded on April 26, 2024.
Mr. Dadzie held the position of Deputy Chief Executive at GNPC, overseeing Commerce, Strategy, and Business Development, prior to his appointment.
Before that, from June 2017 to August 2020, he served as the Corporation’s General Manager, Commercial.
With over 25 years of experience at various executive and senior management levels in five (5) organizations spanning the energy, oil and gas, telecommunications, and banking sectors, Mr. Dadzie is an accomplished financial and management executive.

His experience in the industry spans a wide range of areas, including strategic planning, corporate management, finance, governance, and leadership.
He held the positions of Chief Operating/Finance Officer at Surfline Communications Limited from April 2013 to August 2015 and Chief Finance Officer at Woodfields Energy Resources from September 2008 to March 2013.
He held positions as Senior Manager (Financial Institutions), Head, Large Corporates & Parastatals, and eventually Director, Commodity Corporates at Standard Chartered Bank from 2003 to 2008.
In the fields of banking, energy, and financial services, Mr. Dadzie has held positions on the boards of directors of four (4) organizations.
Working attachments with Codi International BV (Netherlands), New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), and Societe Generale (Paris la Defense) are just a few examples of his global exposure.
UBS Trading Floor (Stamford, Connecticut, USA) and Total Petroleum Services (London and Paris la Defense).
Mr. Dadzie graduated from Nyenrode Business Universiteit in Breukelen, Netherlands, with a Master of Science degree in General Management and a Master of Business Administration (Finance) degree.
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology is where he also obtained his Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Chemical Engineering.
