With the December elections approaching, Kwabena Boateng, the second Vice Chairman of the Ejisu Constituency, has emerged as the New Patriotic Party’s Ejisu Parliamentary Candidate.
In the primary on Saturday, Boateng received 394 votes, more than his nearest rival, Helena Mensah, who received 302 votes. With 229 votes, Yaa Akyemaa Aboagye was in the rear.
Kwesi Nyantakyi, the former president of the GFA, who had been hospitalized prior to the primary, only managed to garner 35 votes.
Dr. Evans Duah received 63 votes, followed by Portia Acheampong Abronye with 6 votes, Klinsman Karikari Mensah with 2 votes, and Aaron Prince Duah with 2 votes. Zero was the score for Jacqueline Abena Pokua Amoah-Boaitey.
Nine candidates running to represent the New Patriotic Party in the upcoming by-election in the Ejisu Constituency were chosen by a total of 1081 delegates.
Following the passing of John Ampontuah Kumah, the Member of Parliament for Ejisu, the party held the parliamentary primary.
