Prior to the general elections of 2024, Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie was chosen as the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary candidate for the Odododiodioo constituency.
His opponent, Emmanuel Nii Okai Laryea, polled 952 of the 2161 total votes cast in the election on Sunday, while he polled 1209 votes and thus emerged as winner.
The poll, which included around 2100 NDC delegates from the Odododiodioo seat in the Greater Accra Region, was postponed in response to an injunction petitioned by Michael Nii Yarboi Anan, a disqualified parliamentary candidate.
The election on Sunday proceeded as planned following the denial of Mr. Yarboi Anan’s appeal for an interlocutory injunction.
