The Black Stars will begin camping in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Sunday, December 31, 2023, ahead of Afcon 2024, a GFA statement has said.
The “the team will spend approximately ten days in South Africa in preparation for Africa’s flagship competition, which is scheduled for Cote D’Ivoire from Saturday, January 13–Sunday, February 11, 2024,” the statement added.
Prior to departing for Abidjan two days later for the tournament, Ghana will play one friendly match against Botswana in Johannesburg on Monday, January 8, 2024.
The Black Stars are in Group B with Mozambique, Cape Verde, and Egypt.
Ghana will begin its campaign against Cape Verde. On Thursday, January 18, 2024, the team will play Egypt, the record holder, and on Monday, January 22, 2024, they will play Mozambique in the last Group B match.
