Medeama

Coach of Medeama SC Evans Augustine Adotey has bemoaned his side’s lucklustre loss against Young Africans.

In the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League group stage on Wednesday, the Tanzanian powerhouse Young Africans thrashed the 10-man Mauves and Yellow Lads, 3-0.

Young Africans now sit second in Group D on goal difference behind leaders Al Ahly going into the final two rounds of competition.

For bottom-of-the-table Medeama, however, it was a very different story as Jonathan Sowah was sent off late in the game, capping off a terrible evening after receiving his second yellow card of the game.

Angry Evans Adottey, despite acknowledging that they fell short of expectations, Augustine Adotey is adamant that they will persevere through to the end of the group stage.

“Our ambition to get three points today have failed. We have two more games, and we shall assess the situation,” the coach of the Ghanaian side told the media.
“We shall fight for the remaining six points. Young Africans deserved the win but we could have avoided the three goals,” the Gaffer said after their loss.

The Tarkwa-based team is now down to four points and will have to fight to advance to the next round.
