Kumasi Asante Kotoko defeated Legon Cities 3-1 in Matchday 12 of the betPawa Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors left it late in the second half to score all three goals
Kotoko entered the contest having just ended a five-game losing streak with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Champions Medeama SC at the Baba Yara.
Nasiru Moro put the Royals the lead in the 21st minute, going against the run of play.
After the break, Asante Kotoko played better, pinning the opposition in their half as they looked for the equaliser. Mohammed Suleman scored the equaliser in the 67th minute by putting the ball in his own net, capping off a period of intense pressure.
Asante Kotoko’s lead was doubled by Steven Mukwala in the 75th minute, and Isaac Oppong ended the match in the 91st.
Asante Kotoko’s 3-1 victory is only their second consecutive victory of the year; in October, they had already won their first two straight victories against Accra Lions and Aduana FC.
Asante Kotoko’s third victory in four encounters also solidifies their superiority against Legon Cities over the previous four seasons.
